Symbian^3 duplicate of Currency Converter removed

Written by Sascha Makela.

It appears that the non-Qt duplicate for Symbian^3 of Currency Converter has been removed from Ovi Store. Now there is one version only for both Symbian^1 and Symbian^2 devices. This is rather nice. Unfortunately, I did lose the nice 5 star reviews which I had in the Symbian^3 duplicate of Currency Converter. The fact that I have this one star "review" from someone who wasn't able to install the app in the first place (which, apparently, Nokia cannot be removed from Ovi, even though it has nothing to do with the app itself), doesn't make it any nicer. Well, maybe I'll get more good reviews in the near future. However, if anyone is having installation issues, please contact our support by emailing to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Sasha,
just purchased it (your first sale to Chile?)

I like it... Currently it would be a 4**** review as it is not too easy to scroll through all the currencies to find the correct one.

My suggestion would be to add a search function so you can type and find....

I will hold off with the rating - perhaps you are interested in enhancing it. But anyway it was a Dollar well spent since I love the possibility to set favorites... Most converters that are free come with a subpar number of currencies... Yours is complete.

Well done and looking forward to updates.

Thanks, but you might be the second one in Chile ;)

As for the search, I presume you have a device without a keyboard, since on those with a keyboard pressing the first key works. But it is a good idea and I'll try to do something about it in future versions. However, the QA for Ovi Store is currently so slow, so do not expect to see it soon.

Cheers

thanks for your fast response. Yes I have the highly popular N8 without keyboard. I believe I had your application (the free one) on Maemo and remember that you added support for CLP quite early on.

I added the rating as the app is good and I was impressed by your fast response. Keep up the good work

Thanks for the nice review. :)

As for the quick response... maybe I don't have that many clients.

I am back after reading the devastating news regarding NoWin (Nokia Windows) :( - might just have been the very last Nokia for me.

Since you had written the Program entirly in QT I think this might apply for you. Go get your EUR 500:
http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/meego-launchpad

"US$500 for first 100 apps

Create one of the first 100 quality apps for MeeGo-based devices to be validated by the Intel AppUp developer program and receive US$500."
